This year's Fellestur will be Richmond Runfest on September 15

This year's joint trip goes to Richmond Runfest https://run-fest.com/events/about-richmond-runfest/ in England! Here are the 10k, half marathon and marathon 15. September. The course runs in a park and along the Thames and is, according to the organizer, "flat as a pancake", although it may not be among the fastest due to some turns and different surfaces. We have been recommended Claytonhotelchiswick which is 15 min easy jog from the start. In addition, for logistical reasons, it is recommended to book a flight to Heathrow if you plan to stay in Brentford. (Reminder that you can book sports tickets with SAS as GTI members)
Running is popular at the moment and it's a good idea to sign up early to secure your place 🙂 You order everything yourself. If support for the trip is approved, travel expenses are submitted afterwards. Remember that there is an expectation of volunteering to receive travel support

  • 16 March Jærkysten Ultra
  • April 6 Mortenløpene
  • April 13 Hålandsvannet Half Marathon
  • 06 June Løplabbet 5000 Challenge
  • In addition, track events are considered blue races.

Karmøy Marathon 2023

A runner's testimonial, Randi Trøen Photo: Grethe Nygaard

"Then my fifth Karmøy Half Marathon was completed. A race that has become a tradition for me.

My goal this time was to enjoy myself and feel how nice it is to run. It was hard to run in headwind and cold, so when there was a bit of tailwind I was very happy. "Even though I didn't get a personal best, I'm left with an incredibly good race experience and feel very proud of my own efforts..

The reason I come back to Karmøy Marathon is because this is a really great scar. What was nice is that the half marathon course goes back and forth and I meet runners from different distances and at different levels. Many people greet and cheer each other as you pass. One of the highlights after the race is a massage from Klinikk Selsaas.

This was my last planned race for 2023, but I've already signed up for the Solastranden 10 km in January and the Robustløpet half marathon in February."

Autumn 23 - Ultra runner Simen Holvik

"After Death Valley, there were a few weeks of recovery before I put my backpack on my back (with sleeping bag and tent) and ran from Prekestolhytta to Oslo S. It was a train I had to catch. Then came September and the Spartathlon. I had a training trip to Sparta beforehand where I ran the last part of the course. Spartathlon (246 km and 3000hm) ended with a 2nd place despite major challenges with diarrhea and vomiting. The time was a new Nordic record. After this race, Jann Post in NRK said the following: "He has reached the class where you can say that he is the best male ultrarunner Norway has ever had." But the year is not over. On November 17, I'm running a 48-hour race in the USA. The goal is to set a new world record. Beyond that, I've quit my job (so that I can continue my efforts in 2024). In addition, a book will be published by Jæren Forlag in the fall of 2024."

Autumn 2023 Rasmus Pedersen

Rasmus Pedersen SPRINT

Many people know Rasmus Pedersen after he told his story about cancer and exercise this spring. The podcast Lavterskel has its own episode from March 17, well worth a listen. We asked him for a short summary of the season

The pre-season in 2023 only started on 11. April with the very first "jog" followed by a leisurely training plan. April and May were trained at a low heart rate, but I let my body work a little muscularly with sessions where I had 100m uphill running or 60m drag as important sessions. Throughout June, I slowly increased both volume and pace and through July I was balancing on a "knife edge" with the risk of injury. A hamstring cramp had to be controlled and a period of painful Achilles after too much volume of pace in sprint shoes were the big challenges. The goal was to run one race in 2023, the 400m at the European Championships in Pescara. The goal was achieved and since then I have slowed down my sprint training and increased the volume and aerobic quantity until indoor training allows for pure sprinting and building up to the World Championships in Gothenburg in August. 2024.
