Rasmus Pedersen SPRINT

Many people know Rasmus Pedersen after he told his story about, among other things cancer and exercise this spring. The podcast Lavterskel has its own episode from March 17, well worth a listen. We asked him for a little summary of the season

The preseason in 2023 started on 11. April with the very first “jog” and subsequent calm plan for training. April and May were trained at a low heart rate, but I let my body work a little muscularly with sessions where I had 100m uphill running or 60m drag as important sessions. In June, I slowly increased both volume and pace and throughout July I was balancing on a “knife edge” with the risk of injury. A hamstring cramp had to be controlled and a period of painful Achilles after too much volume with pace in sprint shoes were the big challenges. The goal was to run one race in 2023, the 400m at the European Championships in Pescara. The goal was achieved and afterwards I have calmed down somewhat on the sprint training and increased the volume and aerobic amount until indoor training allows for pure sprinting and building up to the World Championships in Gothenburg in Aug. 2024.
